learning Today

I wonder sometimes how children are learning today. I see my daughter being able to decode most of the games on web and play deftly, but can not do a single exercise without an error in Mathematics. She talks about Egyptian civilization giving the minute details but when it comes to present in written form, its an utter flop. Reading books for referring is out of fashion. Children do not want to learn and apply reference skills to present a report. Touch of a button, huge array of info is available. Thanks to World Wide web. But the problem is they do not want to read, interpret, write based on te finfings, instead cut, copy, paste and print. Being an avid reader, I feel the younger generation do not know the value of feeling a book, reading it and imagine while you read. Gosh, its too bad!
